He was the Leader of Nicaragua from 2002 to 2007 and is among the wealthiest Nicaraguans because of his natural cotton and property money. He went to Saint Louis School for industrial anatomist. He went a non-profit educational base after he retired from politics. After marrying he started his natural cotton agribusiness and created SAIMSA, or Industrial Agricultural Providers of Masaya. He was wedded to Lila T. Abaúnza in 1949 plus they elevated five kids, though three of these died. He transformed within the presidency to Daniel Ortega in 2007, though he defeated him within a prior election for vice leader.
