Ellen Raskin


Award-winning American children’s book author and illustrator who’s best known on her behalf novel The Westing Game, posted in 1978. She illustrated over 28 books between 1956 and 1970. She was raised through the Great Major depression and continued to wait the College or university of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned two Newberry Medals, one in 1975 for Figgs and Phantoms and another in 1979 for The Westing Video game. She wedded Dennis Flanagan, the editor of Scientific American, in 1965. Among the publication addresses she designed was the initial cover of Madeline L’Engle’s A Wrinkle with time.
