First Asian-American girl and first Chinese language- American to become appointed to a President’s cupboard. George W. Bush appointed her the 24th U.S. Secretary of Labor in 2001; she was the just cupboard member to serve Bush throughout his administration. Her dad shifted to the U.S. on the scholarship and kept up for 3 years to cover the family’s visas and seat tickets to check out him. She received a lot more than two dozen honorary levels from both American and Chinese language universities. She wedded Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell in 1993. She was the longest-serving Secretary of Labor because the Franklin D. Roosevelt administration.
