Edward T. Welburn

The lead automobile designer for General Motors, he was the first African-American to go up through the auto production business’s ranks. He examined art and style at Washington, D.C.’s Howard School. He helped style such automobiles as the Cadillac CTS, the Chevrolet Malibu, as well as the Buick Enclave. He was created in Philadelphia, Pa. At differing times, he and Harley Earl kept the same work title within the overall Motors Company.
