Edward Eggleston

An American fiction writer and historian, he’s known for such novels as The Hoosier Schoolmaster (1871), THE FINISH from the World (1872), and Roxy (1878). His youthful adult historic fiction works consist of Pocahontas and Powhatan (1879) and Montezuma (1880). He was regularly ill as a kid and was frequently unable to go to school; consequently, he received a lot of his early education from his dad. He became a Methodist minister in 1856. He was created in Indiana to Joseph Cary Eggleston and Mary Jane Craig. He and Thomas Welch had been both Methodist ministers.
