Edward Dannreuther

Important musician, writer, and teacher known for his mastery of Chopin and Beethoven and his advocacy of modern music. He went to the Leipzig Conservatory. He was trained by Ignaz Moscheles. He was called teacher of piano in 1895 on the Royal University of Music where he’d teach until his transferring. He fled to Leipzig in 1859 to move away from the pressure his dad was gaining him to create banking a profession. He marketed Richard Wagner’s functions and set up the London Wagner Culture in 1872.
