Eight-time MLB All-Star pitcher who ended his profession with exactly 300 wins. He was authorized from the Washington Senators after turning up at a tryout in Florida at age 17. He became well-known for knocking down hitters having a clean back pitch if indeed they tried showing him up. He wedded his first wife Mabel in 1939. After she passed away three years later on in a vehicle accident, he wedded his second wife Lorraine. They elevated a child and a child together. He received the exclusive Cy Young Honor in 1959.
