Douglas Wilder

Democratic politician who served from 1990 to 1994 as the initial African-American Governor of Virginia. From 2005-2009, he held workplace as Mayor of Richmond, Virginia. He researched chemistry at Virginia Union College or university. He reached the rank of sergeant while fighting in the Korean Battle. During his tenure as Virginia Governor, he purchased state firms and colleges to grab of their assets in South Africa because of the country’s controversial Apartheid plan. He was created in Richmond, Virginia to Beulah and Robert Wilder. His relationship to Eunice Montgomery finished in divorce. He and fellow Democrat Tag Warner both kept any office of Governor of Virginia.
