Donna Leon

American-born crime novelist and university professor. She became well-known for her Guido Brunetti group of detective books. She released her debut Brunetti book, Loss of life at La Fenice, in 1992. She requested that, despite their Venice configurations, non-e of her Brunetti books become translated into Italian. After departing her indigenous America, she trained books in Italy in the University or college of Maryland’s Western branch. She and fellow detective fiction writer Sara Paretsky had been both recipients from the Crime Authors’ Association’s Metallic Dagger Award.
