Biography
An American essayist and fiction writer, he’s particularly known for his essay collection, Reveries of the Bachelor, which targets the dream-like lives of mid-nineteenth-century Us citizens. His other functions consist of Doctor Johns (1866) and My Plantation of Edgewood: A Nation Publication (1863). He graduated from Yale University, where he analyzed both legislation and books. He subsequently offered like a U.S. consul in Venice, Italy. His Reveries of the Bachelor was a preferred publication of poet Emily Dickinson. He was the Connecticut-born child of politician Stephen Blend Mitchell. He and Harry Whitney had been both members from the Skull and Bone fragments culture at Yale.
