Dick Thompson

American race car drivers and Corvette enthusiast who received five SCCA Championships from 1956 to 1962. He’s the writer of 1958’s The Corvette Guideline and was inducted in the Corvette Hall of Popularity in 2000. He started race in 1952, when he completed in 8th place in the Sebring International Raceway. He was nicknamed “The Soaring Dentist” because of the fact that he also went a dentistry business. He was survived by his wife Eve and his child Diane. He and Expenses Lester are both well-known competition car motorists from Washington, D.C.
