Dick Bruna


Writer and illustrator of more than 200 children’s books like the famous Miffy books. He also illustrated a lot more than 2,000 reserve covers. His dad was an extremely effective publisher in Netherlands and got the expectations that he’d take over the business, but rather Dick considered composing and illustrating. In 2006 a museum was opened up, now known as The Miffy Museum, honoring him and his function in children’s books. He received the Utmost Velthuijs-prijs award in 2016. He wedded Irene De Jongh and jointly that they had a boy. One of is own biggest inspirations was musician Henri Matisse.
