After rising to fame on her behalf debut picture book, In the High, Tall Lawn, this author and artist published the work’s Caldecott Medal-finalist sequel, In the tiny, Small Fish-pond. She earned a qualification in illustration from Michigan’s Kendall University of Artwork and Style. Her 1998 function, Mama Cat Provides Three Kittens, was specified an ALA (American Library Association) Notable Book. She was raised in Toledo, Ohio. She and her hubby, David, afterwards became parents to a little girl called Indigo. She and THE Hungry Caterpillar writer Eric Carle both became known because of their children’s picture books.
