French sculptor and medallist known for his pediment from the Pantheon and his marble Wounded Philopoemen within the Louvre. He researched in the studio room of Jean-Jacques Delusse and visited Paris to review under Philippe-Laurent Roland. He was created Pierre-Jean David, but followed the name David d’Angers once he became an musician. His dad was a timber carver and sculptor. His function was respected by article writer Victor Hugo.
