Biography

Stage and display screen actress who have played Mimi in the initial Broadway ensemble of Lease and Lucy in the Off-Broadway creation of Jack Runs Boating. She started her profession as the business lead singer to get a Latin group referred to as Pajama Party. In 2008, she got a small component in the Sex and the town movie. Her mom was a nurse and her dad was a carpenter. She was created in Panama Town, Panama. She made an appearance in Wild Issues, a film that also highlighted Kevin Bacon.

Daphne did not reprise her role due to pregnancy and the role of Mimi was played on film by Rosario Dawson. Fredi refused the movie role because she thought she had aged beyond what the audience would believe; the role of Joanne in the movie was played by Tracie Thoms.
6 It was her performance in Broadway's "Rent" that ultimately won her the role of Det. Gloria Perez in Wild Things (1998).
7 Has twice been nominated for Broadway's Tony Award: as Best Actress (Musical), in 1996 for her performance as Mimi in Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer Prize winning "Rent;" and as Best Actress (Featured Role - Play), in 2004 for "Anna in the Tropics." .
8 Received the Theatre World Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role as Mimi in "Rent".
9 Was a member of the pop trio "Pajama Party" before heading to Broadway to star in "Rent". They scored a number one club hit with the song "Yo No Se".
