Doctor and Civil Battle soldier remembered for his part in two important legal decisions from the past due nineteenth century. Not merely was he the very first person to state land beneath the 1862 Homestead Take action, but because the plaintiff within the Daniel Freeman v. John Scheve case, he was also the first ever to argue for parting of chapel and state in america. Before becoming a member of an Illinois-based Union Military regiment through the American Civil Battle, he received his medical trained in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1936, his Nebraska homestead was specified a Country wide Monument. His relationship to Elizabeth Wilber created three kids. He later wedded Agnes Suiter, his deceased brother’s previous fiancee. The few raised seven kids. Chief executive Abraham Lincoln authorized the Homestead Take action into legislation in 1862, and Freeman seized the chance to claim property.
