CBC current information anchor and author who made an appearance over the Natonal from 1978 to 1988. In 2006, he received the Life time Achievement Award in the Canadian Journalism Base. He sold papers in Toronto while WWII was raging in European countries. He became a specialist journalist when he was significantly less than 20 years previous. He was wedded to CBC’s Lorraine Thomson for pretty much 40 years. In 2002 he was identified as having Parkinson’s disease, that was discovered by Adam Parkinson.
|1||His first real journalism job was night editor with the British United Press, a Toronto-based wire service. He later became the Washington correspondent for CBC's Newsmagazine. He covered the Cuban missile crisis, space launches at Cape Canaveral, and the riots surrounding the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.|
