She once was an All-American monitor superstar at Clemson School. She first produced a name for herself on the Under-17 CARIFTA Video games in 1992. She gained the Austin Sealy Trophy as the very best athlete on the 1996 CARIFTA Video games. She wedded Trinidadian sprinter Ato Stephens. She and Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare are both Commonwealth Video games Champions in the women’s 200 meters.
