Claudia Poll

200 meter and 800 meter swimmer who became Costa Rica’s first gold medalist for the 200 meter freestyle event on the 1996 Olympic Games. She began going swimming in 1979 and earned several regional game titles while schooling with Francisco Rivas. She was called the 1997 Globe Swimmer of the entire year by Swimming Globe Magazine as well as the Costa Rican Sportswoman of the entire year for consecutive years from 1993-2000. Her sister Silvia earned the initial Olympic medal for Costa Rica on the 1998 Video games. She earned Olympic medals for going swimming exactly like Ryan Lochte.
