Clara Shortridge Foltz

Indiana-born lawyer who became the 1st woman to apply law for the Western Coast of america. She handed the California pub exam in 1868 and consequently sued Hastings University of Regulation when the institution refused to allow her enroll because she was a female. Her name was presented with towards the downtown LA criminal courtroom building (the Clara Shortridge Foltz Lawbreaker Justice Middle). She wedded Jeremiah Foltz, a farmer, when she was fifteen years of age. Before Foltz still left her in 1876, she gave delivery to five kids. She was a descendant of American frontier hero Daniel Boone .
