British actress who became well-known on her behalf roles of Kim Tate within the soap opera Emmerdale and Karen Betts about the television display Bad Women. She visited Harrogate Ladies University and initially pursued a profession in the music business like a disk jockey and a vocalist. She released an autogiography where she accepted to once being truly a stone groupie. She was wedded to acting professional Peter Amory from 1994 to 2004. She got an affair with vocalist Bob Geldof.

1 Her Emmerdale (1972) character Kim Tate became the 8th woman on the soap opera to give birth. Kim had a son James (played originally by Jake Meays and later Bradley White), born on 24 September 1996.
2 Underwent a hysterectomy in 2010 to treat fibroids.
3 Changed her name from Claire Seed as there was already an actress with this name in Equity, the British actors' union; she says the name "King" comes from her love of horse racing (the sport of kings) and Elvis Presley, of whom she is a big fan.
