Claire Bloom

Biography

Stage actor who have starred in productions of the Streetcar Named Desire and appeared with Fishing rod Steiger in the 1969 film The Illustrated Guy. She produced her initial stage debut at age 15 using the Oxford Repertory Theater. She made an appearance alongside Charlie Chaplin in the 1952 film Limelight. She got a girl with Fishing rod Steiger, whom she was wedded to from 1959 to 1969. She was also wedded to manufacturer Hillard Elkins from 1969 to 1972 and novelist Philip Roth from 1990 to 1995. She performed Queen Mary in the 2010 Academy Prize earning Tom Hooper film The King’s Talk.
