Italian artist from the Mannerist and Baroque periods whose paintings included “The Sacrifice of Isaac” and “Venus and Satyr.” His “St. Peter Curing the Lame Guy” was thought to be among Rome’s most gorgeous paintings. He analyzed in Florence using the popular Mannerist designer Alessandro Allori. His actual name was Lodovico Cardi, but he passed Cigoli. He grew up within the Tuscany area of Italy. He was a good friend of Galileo Galilei.
