Well-known for writing for such well-known bands and singers as The Carpenters and Elvis Presley, this Grammy-winning musician and songwriter also had a career being a music producer, dealing with such artists as Natalie Cole, Pat Boone, and Al Jarreau. In the 1970s, he performed using a Billboard-ranked trio known as Natural cotton, Lloyd & Christian. He afterwards played electric guitar for the Wayne Newton Music group. In the first 1980s, he founded a music label known as Home Sweet House Records. A indigenous of Abilene, Tx, he eventually joined up with the West Tx Music Hall of Popularity. He was in charge of launching the profession of vocalist Amy Grant.
