A prominent African-American author and scholar, he’s most widely known for his novels, Dreamer (1998) and Middle Passing (1990), which fine detail black life in the us. He analyzed journalism at Southern Illinois University or college and SUNY-Stony Brook. He also worked well as a politics cartoonist.
