Republican politician who joined up with the US Home Consultant from Indiana from 1935 to 1969. He became almost children name in the 60s for his regular spirited televised debates with Democratic Senator Everett McKinley Dirksen. After providing in WW I, he was the prosecuting lawyer in Rensselaer, Indiana, later on getting a vacated Home chair. Despite his regularly vocal support of Republican guidelines, he notably broke along with his party to aid a Democratically-supported civil privileges costs in 1963.
