Referred to as the Queen of Morna, Évora was a Cape Verdean singer who was simply nominated on her behalf 1st Grammy Award in 1995 on her behalf album Cesaria. She started performing on Portuguese cruise lines to make money after she was orphaned at a age group. She received a Grammy Honor in 2003 on her behalf recording Voz d’Amor. Her dad worked like a part-time musician. She’s performed with Gilberto Gil.
