Carole Shelley

British actress who appeared in the initial Broadway production of Wicked and received the Tony Award on her behalf performance in the 1979 Broadway production from the Elephant Man. She debuted on Broadway in the 1965 creation of The Unusual Couple, writing the stage with Walter Matthau. She lent her tone of voice acting talents to many animated Disney movies, including Robin Hood, Hercules, as well as the Aristocats. She was wedded to Albert G. Woods from 1967 until his loss of life in 1971. She and Walter Matthau performed with Artwork Carney in the initial Broadway production from the Odd Couple.
