Carla Thomas

American soul singer who released many albums through the entire 1960s and 1970s. She actually is referred to as the “Queen of Memphis Spirit”. She joined up with the WDIA radio train station sponsored musical group Teenager Town Performers, when she was a decade older. She released an recording of duets with vocalist Otis Redding, which became a large hit in the uk. Her dad Rufus was an emcee for Palace Theater’s displays, and her siblings, Marvell and Vaneese, are also musical. She was affected by many performers including Jackie Wilson.
