Carl Sandburg

American poet and author who’s best remembered for Rootabaga Tales, The Battle Years, and Cornhuskers. A lot of his poems consist of references to the town of Chicago. He remaining school at age group thirteen and kept several odd careers before becoming a member of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin branch of the Socialist Party of America. He was a three-time receiver of the Pulitzer Reward for Books. He wedded Lilian Steichen in 1908. He, his wife, and their three daughters ultimately resolved on a NEW YORK estate they called Connemara. He had written an award-winning biography of Abraham Lincoln.
