Carl Douglas

Jamaican singer who shot to stardom following a release of his 1974 fighting techinques homage “Kung Fu Fighting,” which would look at become among the best-selling singles ever. Though he by no means strike it big once again in america, he scored additional major hits within the U.K., including “Dance the Kung Fu” and “Work Back again.” He was raised in Jamaica and California before shifting towards the U.K., where he founded the music group Big Stampede in 1964. His supervisor was Eric Woolfson, who go on to be the primary songwriting pressure behind The Alan Parsons Task. He was created in Kingston, Jamaica. His track “Dance the Kung Fu” was sampled by DJ Leading for his remix of “Traditional (MUCH BETTER THAN I’ve HAVE YOU BEEN)” in 2007.
