Cab Calloway

Biography

Jazz bandleader and vocalist who have sang “Minnie the Moocher” and “St. Adam Infirmary Blues” and business lead and performed with one of the better big rings. He and his sister Blanche toured with a favorite dark music revue known as Plantation Times. He committed his life time to producing and executing music, singing until his loss of life at age eighty-six in 1994. He wedded Wenonah Betty Conacher in 1928; after their divorce in 1949, he remarried Zulme Nuffie MacNeal in 1953. He led his big music group and staffed it with performers like Dizzy Gillespie.
