Bunker Roy

Indian cultural activist who founded the ‘Barefoot University’ in 1972 to greatly help the rural poor support themselves. Witnessing the plight of the indegent in the 1960s Bihar famine motivated him to function to raised their lives. His Barefoot University taught people who have high tech abilities how to enhance their neighborhoods. He wedded fellow activist, Aruna Roy, whom he fulfilled in university. Muhammad Yunus is certainly another well-known activist who functions to empower the indegent.
