Big Music group and Jazz Hall of Popularity inductee and one of the biggest tenor saxophone players of his generation. He was the bandleader on a lot more than twenty albums during the period of his profession, including Simply Jazz. He began by playing alto saxophone in McCloud’s Evening Owls and continued to utilize Andy Kirk being a tenor saxophonist. He led a music group in the 1970s with Paul Quinichette. He elevated a little girl who looked after him in his twilight times. He collaborated with Lionel Hampton in the 1990s, amongst others.
