Budd Johnson

Jazz saxophone and clarinet participant who have led the Earl Hines Grand Terrace Orchestra and pioneered the swing-to-bop changeover. He began playing drums before switching towards the saxophone. He caused lots of the jazz greats, including Benny Goodman, Coleman Hawkins, Dizzy Gillespie, and Duke Ellington. He was raised in Dallas, Tx. He was the longtime innovative partner of Earl Hines.
