Among the pioneers of bebop, along with Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. He was regarded as among jazz’s most significant pianists. He started playing piano at age group five, and by age group 10, he could imitate Artwork Tatum and Body fat Waller. He was seriously beaten by the authorities while going to Philadelphia at age 20, an event that remaining him incoherent and psychologically unpredictable. He was institutionalized many times throughout his existence, including in 1947, where he was presented with electroconvulsive therapy, and once again in 1951, pursuing an arrest for cannabis possession. His dad was a stride pianist who acknowledged his son’s skills in early stages and enrolled him in classical-piano lessons. He drew great motivation from his colleague and fellow pianist Thelonious Monk.
