Brian Close


The youngest man ever to try out Test cricket for England, he captained England in 7 of his 22 Test fits, and later on captained Somerset. He was providing a “limited to barracks” consequence during his armed service service when chosen for his 1st worldwide cricket tour in 1950. He offers long compared one-day cricket, or ODI’s, thinking it diminishes a player’s abilities. He was the next eldest of five males and a woman given birth to to Harry and Esther Close. He and Tag Harman both performed region cricket for Somerset.
