2In his novel Oblivion, he has one of the characters doubtful of a God, which is an odd thing to read in a Young Adult novel.
3In his novel Oblivion, he mentions James Bond, an obvious in-joke because this is an influence on his teen spy Alex Rider series, but he remarks that things are never that simple; Horowitz also includes Bond's famous car, the Aston Martin which debuted in Goldfinger (1964).
4Fellow author Frank Cottrell Boyce is a big fan of Horowitz; he wrote of his novel Oblivion that "this book is ambitious in a way that puts most adult novels to shame".

7His Young Adult fiction can be enjoyed by adults too. He has written several Young Adult novels; they're adult in tone and even have casual swearing.
8His awards include children's book of the year at the British Book Awards, and the Red House children's book award.
9In his novel Oblivion, one of the characters reads his life story in a library, like out of The NeverEnding Story (1984), or The NeverEnding Story.
10In his novel Oblivion, he paraphrases lines from the movies The Terminator (1984), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) (come with me if you want to live) and Apollo 13 (1995) (failure is not an option).
11Has also written The Diamond Brothers books and other Young Adult novels.
12The British newspaper The Independent described him as "a forceful and passionate writer".
13Has written for children and adults and had great success either way, like his highly acclaimed Sherlock Holmes novel, The House of Silk.
14Although Horowitz has written several Alex Rider books, the first one Stormbreaker is currently the only one to have been adapted into a blockbuster movie, in 2006.
15Owns a dog Limpy with his wife Jill Green.
16Interviews experts and visits places used in his books to give them more credibility, even the Alex Rider series about a 14-year old spy working for MI6.

#Quote
1My dog endures his various name changes.
2Writers are very solitary. We spend hundreds of hours in a room by ourselves, and it's all too easy to forget there are actually lots of people helping us.
3It's amazing how many people do actually help me.
4My sons Nicholas and Cassain, still read the manuscripts before anyone else and give me brutally honest advice.
5My wife, Jill Green, knows the hell of being married to a writer and lives with it.
6[writing the last Alex Rider book] On the one hand I'm sad. But I hope you'll agree that I've finished on a high note.
7[Alex Rider] The fact of the matter is that, without any help from me, he's grown up. And now he's gone. I'll miss him.
8[from his novel Scorpia Rising] All statements, activities, stunts, descriptions, information and material of any other kind contained herein are included for entertainment purposes only and should not be relied on for accuracy or replicated as they may result in injury.
9[his last acknowledgments page for the final Alex Rider novel in March, 2011] My chance to thank all the people who have made this series possible.
10[Scorpia Rising, the last book in his Alex Rider series] For all the readers who began this journey and who have now reached its end.
11[in the acknowledgments section of the last Alex Rider novel] And finally thanks to some early supporters of Alex Rider, the teachers and librarians who have recommended the books to reluctant readers. The truth is, while writers feel alone, they never really are.
12[acknowledging his wife and son in his novel Crocodile Tears] My son Cass was once again the first to read the manuscript and as usual gave me excellent advice. Finally, thanks to my wife, Jill Green, who had to live through the writing of this. It wasn't always fun.
13It's always amazing how many people are willing to help me, give up their time and opening doors that might otherwise stay closed.
14I try to make the Alex Rider books as realistic as I can.
15I'm lost in season three of The Walking Dead (2010). I love the scope of this series, the characters and the violence.
