Irish Republican Military groundbreaking whose death at age 27 within the HM Jail Maze caused a surge of IRA activity and recruitment. He became a member of the IRA in 1972, and was shortly afterwards imprisoned for having four handguns. After getting convicted, he offered three years of the five-year word. He passed away of self-inflicted hunger on time 66 of his craving for food hit, which he resulted in remove Particular Category Position from IRA prisoners. His wife was Geraldine Noade, who he wedded in 1972. He previously a child called Gerald Sands along with a sister called Bernadette Sands McKevitt. Nelson Mandela, who was simply inspired by Sands, completed a hunger hit while on Robben Isle.
