Extremely successful minor league manager who won 2,496 games; he also was a catcher in the best leagues for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Indians. He performed in the minors for the Springfield Senators. He previously a profession MLB batting typical of .241 but was a good defensive catcher. He was created in Huntingburg, Indiana. Hall of Popularity strike machine Honus Wagner was his teammate within the Pirates.
