Biography

Rugby icon who won 12 women’s singles Grand Slam rugby game titles, and defeated past men’s champ Bobby Riggs. She found her first rugby racket at age 11. She’d go on to wait Cal Condition LA rather than Stanford or USC because of financial problems. She founded the Women’s Rugby Association as well as the Women’s Sports activities Foundation, and can be who owns the World Rugby Group. She was wedded to her university boyfriend Larry Ruler from 1965-1987, despite realizeing she was gay in 1969. Since their divorce, she’s been with long-term partner Ilana Kloss. She captured her 6th Wimbledon singles tournament after defeating Evonne Goolagong Cawley in 1975.
