Baldemar Velasquez

Labor union activist who all co-founded the Plantation Labor Organizing Committee, a labor union representing migrant plantation employees in the Midwest, in 1967. He’d help his parents in the areas starting at age four. He was called being a MacArthur Fellow and honored the Order from the Aztec Eagle, the best honor that may be received with a noncitizen of Mexico. He was created to Cresencio and Vicenta-Castillo Velasquez with eight siblings. He was inspired by the tips of Dr. Martin Luther Ruler Jr, Gandhi, and Cesar Chavez.
