Aruna Asaf Ali

Indian activist who’s greatest remembered for hoisting the Indian Nationwide Congress flag on the Gowalia Tank maidan in Bombay in 1942. She proved helpful as a instructor at Gokhale Memorial College in Calcutta. She protested the treating politics prisoners by beginning a hunger hit, while imprisoned on the Tihar Prison in 1932. She wedded Congress party head, Asaf Ali. Both she and writer Mahmoud Darwish had been recipients from the International Lenin Tranquility Prize.
