Arthur Machen

A Welsh writer and translator using a mystic, gothic bent, he wrote THE FANTASTIC God Pan as well as the Hill of Dreams. His various other supernaturally-themed works are the Shining Pyramid as well as the Terror. His delivery name was Arthur Llewelyn Jones, and he originated from a family group of clergymen. He failed his medical college entrance examinations before buying a literary profession. He joined an organization of traveling stars in 1901 as a way of distracting himself from his grief within the loss of life of his initial wife. He wedded music and theater enthusiast, Amelia (Amy) Hogg, in 1887. After Hogg’s untimely loss of life from tumor, Machen wed Dorothie Purefoy Hudleston. His function was greatly respected by Oscar Wilde.
