Poet and novelist who was simply active through the Harlem Renaissance and it is famous for functions like the Story from the Negro and God Sends Weekend. He also gained great essential acclaim for his 1936 book Dark Thunder. He researched English and background at California’s Pacific Union University. Upon graduation, he approved a teaching placement at NY City’s Harlem Academy. His insufficient considerable income from his literary profession pressured him to go after a master’s level in library technology. He consequently worked within the library of Tennessee’s Fisk College or university. He was raised within the Louisiana house of Charlie Bontemps and Marie Pembrooke Bontemps. Along with his wife Alberta, he elevated six kids. He was a pal of fellow Harlem Renaissance poet Langston Hughes. He and Hughes collaborated on the 1932 children’s publication entitled Popo and Fifina.
