Mexican-American pro boxer who was simply a WBA, WBO, and IBF Welterweight Champ. He gained the nickname, “Un Tornado de Tijuana.” His amateur boxing record was 18-3. He previously two intense rounds with Puerto Rico’s WBA Welterweight Champ Miguel Cotto; he dropped the rematch. He wedded Michelle; his brother-in-law, Hanzel Martinez, also attained fame being a boxer. His permit was revoked for the year with the California Condition Athletic Payment after he was captured with hands wraps that included sulfur and calcium mineral, enabling these to harden into Plaster of Paris when blended with oxygen, in front of you bout with Shane Mosley.
