Internationally known solo pianist who was simply specifically recognized for his mastery of Beethoven. He was students on the Longy College of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music, as well as the Curtis Institute. He became perhaps one of the most documented performers of his time. He fathered Julian Kuerti, who became associate conductor from the Boston Symphony. His knowledge extended beyond Beethoven’s repertoire, and he learned a great many other composers, including Franz Schubert.
