British isles poet, editor, verse playwright, and recipient of a 2001 Purchase of The British isles Empire honor. She proved helpful as an editor for Faber & Faber and released her Gathered Poems in 1994. Her mom, Violet Milford Bradby, was a children’s tale writer; her two uncles and something aunt had been also authors and/or web publishers. She was a pal of C.S. Lewis and was sometimes associated with Inklings, a literary culture to which Lewis also belonged. She wedded Vivian Ridler in 1938; the few acquired two sons and two daughters. Her poem, “I Who am Right here Dissembled,” includes allusions to T.S. Eliot’s function and was contained in an anthology released in special event of Eliot’s 60th birthday.
