Althea Gibson

Biography

Late rugby star who became the very first African American female to get Wimbledon in 1957. She graduated from Floria A&M University or college in 1953. She received seven total Grand Slam Game titles, including four Doubles championships. She got wedded to Sydney Llewellyn in 1983, after closing an 11-12 months relationship with William Darben in 1976. She paved just how for future BLACK tennis celebrities like Venus Williams.
