Allan Stewart

Scottish artist most widely known for his armed service, historical, and passionate paintings. Acclaimed for his illustrations from the Boer Battle in South Africa for the Illustrated London Information. He went to the Royal Scottish Academy, learning art and earning many awards on the way. He also researched in Spain and France. His popular military-themed paintings included “Towards the memory space of brave males: The final stand of Main Allan Wilson in the Shangani, 4 Dec 1893,” 1st exhibited in 1896, and “The Charge from the 21st Lancers at Omdurman” from 1900. His dad was a postmaster at Leith. He wedded and got three kids. He and fellow painter Jack port Vettriano had been both created in Scotland.
